A Squashed Christmas Card

Hello There,

I finally finished my entrance to the Let's Squash It Challenge #26. Had an awful time sizing it and don't like my letters askew, but, here I am anyway.

I dug around my embossing folders until finding just the one to use. I can't find it anywhere, but it is an old Sizzix folder. Can you see all the snowmen playing?

To add to the card and letting the e f be the star, I used a Die-Namics die set called Filled With Joy to make my partial snowman. I like his smile.

Why, why do I never remember to to back my word die cuts with double sided paper before cutting them out. Dang. I'll fix it before mailing. I did use snippets for the words and snowman, so am also entering this into the Snippets Playground #441 which is closing soon. The Merry Christmas in Real Red is an oldie from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Sorry, all these items seem to be sold out or not available.

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving, hope you in the US did too. Now on to making Christmas cards. Bye from a not-typical 50 degree late November day here in Minnesota.

A Rose

 Hello Again!

Tonight I am showing my entry to The Flower Challenge #74 where they asked for us to add embellishments. As I really prefer CAS type cards yet needed a sympathy card, I hope this card will be okay.

I think the stamped rose, embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder can be the embellishment, but added 3 faceted black dots to be sure. There is not label on this bling, so I don't know who made them. Of course the card was difficult to photograph showing the shine, but you can see some. Looks like gold, doesn't it?

The With Sympathy stamp, that I stamped in Versafine Onyx Black, is an old one from Stampin' Up! I will write a note before mailing.

I am also adding this card to Addicted to CAS Challenge #323 which is ending soon.

A cold snap is here in MN, hit only 30 degrees today. Snow might come this weekend and I'll like that, native that I am. Bye for now. 😊

A Christmas Card

 Greetings,

I know I promised posts with flowers, but going through my tons of patterned paper, I found a lovely one from 2020 called Plush Poinsettia by Stampin' Up! It has berries and leaves, so close enough to flowers, right? Seeing it I just had to make a Christmas card. I am hoarding the really dark green paper! 😀

The design of this card is CASEing one from a video by Jackie Bolhuis at Klompen Stampers, her Fun Fold Cards Tutorial Vol. 3.

I made mine opening from the top rather than the side. A 1" belly-band shown here is needed to keep it closed. Besides the specialty plush vellum paper, I used SU's retired Handsome Hunter card stock and red glitter paper.

The Merry Christmas die is retired from Elizabeth Craft Designs, dated 2014, and is a die I use a lot. I remembered to back the glitter piece with double sided adhesive paper before cutting it out, a first for me as I usually forget and struggle gluing small cutouts. The berry stems and leaf are fussy cut from a snippet of the above designer paper. When opened, there is a nice rectangular piece of white paper ready for a holiday message.

Are you making Christmas cards yet? I have done several, but I sure miss the old CAS Christmas challenge. Take care, my friends. Best to you all from me in MN.

A Repost

 Hi~

The card today is a repost of one I posted just before my old blog disappeared. I wonder how many people saw it. If you did and made a comment, thanks. Hope I can remember how I made it. It is still on my desk, a special fold card CASED from Lisa at Lisa's Stamp Studio from about four months ago.

A while back I saw a method to use when CASEing a card using the acronym LIMES. I think by Loll. Anyway, for the L, meaning List, I used color, flower, and the twisted ribbon technique. For I-Include, I used blue, dsp, and a die cut. For M-Modify, I added dsp under the flower. For E-Exclue, I didn't add bling or a sentiment. For S-Spin, not much of my own ideas here.
But thanks, Lisa, your video is great and I loved making this card like yours.

For supplies, the dsp is from the Stampin' Up! 20-22 In Color 6x6 pad. The flower came from the Tim Holtz Wildflower I die set. PTI Basic White is the card base.

I am really making new cards and have a new flower stamp and die, but the rearranging of my craft space is taking precedence. I have too many supplies and too little space. I appreciate you visiting. Hugs and joy coming to you from MN!

A Special Birthday Card

 Hello!

My grandson's birthday is coming up and I just finished his card. I have CASED a card by Di at Pixie's Crafty Workshop from October. I had the same sentiment that she used in my parts basket, and just did my own thing with what number dies I had in my stash.

I chose orange for the numbers because that is my grandson's favorite color. The smaller ones are from the Blackboard Numbers die set by Elizabeth Craft Designs. Since the set has never been used, I am adding this card to NBUS #44

The large 21 (as that is what age he is turning) is from my old Papertrey Ink set called By The Numbers. It seems that both number sets are still available, which is wonderful. To add a little interest I added some bling in the same color as the happy birthday. I think the black layer makes the colors pop. The base card is my usual PTI Basic White, a nice weight c.s.

Inside, I stamped "May Your Birthday Be As Special As You Are" with a 2002 Hero Arts wood stamp onto a piece of matching blue cardstock found in my stash.  A gift card for some gas put inside completes this for this special grandson.

My new blog is slowly coming along. Thank you for visiting. Hugs from MN.

Welcome

Welcome visitors to my new blog. It is still under construction, so if you have a suggestion or  a "how-to" I sure would appreciate it. I think the followers button is working, so if you can follow me, that would be wonderful. Cyber hugs, Jeanne

 THANK YOU

New Blog, First Card

 Hello!

My old blog has been removed and I am still trying to figure out why. So here is my new one. I am going to emphasize cards with flowers this time but setting it up is still in progress. Ya know?

This is the card I sent to my BFF in California. I sure miss seeing her on her special day. I made this card for World Card Making Day but have never posted it.

The flower is from the retired Prized Peony set by  Stampin' Up! I fussy cut it out and placed it with dimensionals on a Subtles embossed white A2 card.

I colored the flower with SU Blends in Pink Pirouette, Granny Apple Green, and Soft Suede. Trying to add some sparkle I added some SU white shimmer paste, but think that was a mistake. Oops, but couldn't get it off and the card needed to get mailed.

The greeting is from the Happy Birthday To You set also by SU. I like the font. Inside I just wrote a note with only the flower bud stamped.

That is it from me for now. Back to creating this blog. I did try to edit my profile info, but only succeeded with changing the picture. Sigh.

I do appreciate everyone who finds this and stops by. Thank You!
