A Bookshelf

 Hi There,

Finished up this card in order to enter it into TIMEOUT Challenge 236 - World Book Day. I am an avid reader and have hundreds of books. Three in progress right now, all for my book club.

Now coloring this stamp from Hero Arts called Bookshelf, wasn't easy. I should have heat embossed the image. That would have helped me stay in the lines. Remember kindergarten anyone?

I used Stampin' Up! Blend alcohol ink pens for the coloring. Too many to list, but it makes a colorful shelf, I think. I thought about printing a title on some of the books, but decided against it. That probably would have messed this card up even more.

The panel was cut down using a Spellbinder's older die set called Hemstitch Rectangles and mounted on a Basic Black A2 card base.

The sentiment I found in a set by Clearly Besotted called Bookworm. It is still available online and has many great sayings. It was hard to chose one. I bet lots of us need this reminder to think when choosing a book to read. Books can teach us so much.

Well, after 80 degrees Fahrenheit last week, this week we have 40's and 50's with rain. The grass is really green this morning, so that and all the trees budding make my heart happy.

Take good care, my friends.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come by again.

Easter Cards 🐇 🐇 🐇

 Happy Easter

Posting today the three cards I made for my two college age grands and my great granddaughter. The two fancy folds are truly CASEd from Lisa at Lisa's Stamp Studio. Thanks Lisa! Love her idea and I had all the same paper and stamps. I just added a couple of my own touches and colors.

A bit fiddley to make and I had to watch the video many times. The triangle point is where the card opens and the bunny is glued inside the opening. Pretty cute cards if I say so myself. My granddaughter was mailed the brown one and my grandson who will be home for Easter, gets the blue one. I put more little eggs that I hand cut out in the inside with a note. I miss the two grands so much when they are away at college. The papers and images are all from Stampin' Up!

I mailed this last card for my little great granddaughter who is 17 months. She'll probably appreciate it more when older. LOL

I was in a hurry to get this card made, so am not very happy with it nor my photographing. There is some texture with an old Sizzix embossing folder and the bunny with the basket die cut was in my parts basket. I imagine I snipped it from a card I received, but I don't know. For some more texture, I added a few sequins too. The greeting is the same one I used above from the retired Welcome Easter set.

Cold and windy today here in Central Minnesota, however, they are predicting 60's or so this weekend. That sure makes me happy.

Happy Spring days are coming and the trees are just starting to bud. It soon will be pretty around here.

Bye for now. Take good care of yourselves and your loved ones.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come by again.

A Bird This Time

 Hello~

This card was made for the March 2023 Card Chain Challenge and sent off to Michigan. As I said last time, I am anxious for Spring and as one of the options this time was "birds", I chose to use my NBUS bird die from STAMPlorations/CUTplorations called Perched Bird. I am not sure how long I've had it, but it is still available, apparently, and I never used it before. I sure hope one bird is okay. I  do have another bird perched on a limb that is similar to this die. Think I'd better check my Evernote before buying. Do you ever purchase duplicate things?

Looking a many pictures of Blue Birds online led me to the colors used. All are from the Stampin' Up! Blends line in Light and Dark Night of Navy, Light and Dark Soft Suede along with Chocolate Chip and white Chalk markers. Coloring is not really my thing, but this is okay, I think. The card base is Early Espresso and the matting light blue, probably retired Bashful Blue. Did I ever mention that blue is my favorite color?

So here it is!

The sentiment is also new to me and is from the My Favorite Things Flowers in Bloom clear stamp set. So I am adding this card to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #49 for April.

Quite a cool end to March but I hear temps in the 50's are coming. Whoa, it snowed a lot last night and everything is so pretty and white. But, but, Spring is supposed to be here. It is melting, though as the temp is in the 40's.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come by again.
