Bloom & Grow

Hello!

I follow the blogs from most of the seven players in the Group of Seven, so had to try their latest technique. I struggled with placing the sentiment, but am posting anyway. I had gone too far making this, so decided to finish. Not quite following directions, alas. I'll send it to my BFF in CA.

I started with a cut piece of dark green cardstock, not sure the company, and stamped and embossed  this lovely rose stamp with VersaMark and Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. It sparkles nicely in real life. The rose is from the Altenew and Hero Arts collaboration in 2019 that I had not inked up before. Shame on me. Adding the card to NUBUS #50.

Following the directions mostly from the video the Seven linked me to, I started blending. The colors I chose are from Altenew called Mountain Pine and Shadow Creek. Then I blended some Charcoal Suit ink around the edges leaving the center of the flower the original cardstock color.

The unclear sentiment that says "Live life in full bloom" is from the above stamp set. I have not ever been happy with any splattering that I tried on cards, so added SU!'s retired white Candy Dots instead to balance the white card base.

That's it for now. Beautiful, but hot here in MN. Summer like weather.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come by again. I sure love your comments!

Happy Birdies-Day

 Hi There,

A quick card today made to enter the Snippets Playground, but I already did that. Sigh. So, as I always need birthday cards for sharing with SCS BRAK and The Card Chain Challenge each month, I am  glad I made this one too. Of course, I have family and friends who deserve cards too! LOL

This  latest card uses card parts:

The birdie cardstock beneath the square aperture is a rectangle of cute paper that was in my parts drawer waiting to be used. I don't know where it came from. The birthday die cut is from an oldie PaperTrey Ink $5 set. That should tell you how old it is! I doubled it up for some dimension. The wishes stamp from the same set is stamped in a kind of matching blue like one of the birdies. Looks black, though.

The card base with the cut out was languishing around too, probably from Stampin' Up! The birdie paper in the inside has a white rectangle of white paper on the bottom part for a note.

Bye for now from MN where it is supposed to be in the low 70's today. Spring has sprung!

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come by again.

CCC for April 2023

 Happy Spring!

For the April Card Chain Challenge, I chose 3 options: the sketch, the colors AND the theme Spring! I used the colors charcoal, lime green and bumble bee to make my card pretty much copying the sketch but using many snippets of paper. I keep scraps in clear bags separated by color so it was easy to find almost matching remnants.

My card base is Stampin' Up! Basic Gray. From a nice piece of Daffodil Delight I cut the crisscrossed lines and some of the circles. All of the circles were done with retired SU punches. Much easier to punch them then it would have been to use dies. The green dots were punched from from an unknown c.s. and I used the biggest piece for the inside message rectangle.

So here the card I made this time, the front and the inside.

This stamped message is part of one I've had for ages, but never used. It is from Sprinkle N Sparkle, a defunct company. They made nice embossing powders and glitter. The complete message is inside so I photographed that too. Used an old Inkadinkadoo butterfly stamp and a springy Lilac bud from Flourishes another long gone company.

I've mailed the card so its winging its way to Norway. I don't image that it will be in time as the deadline is the last day of the month, but there is always hope. Right? I haven't heard if the card made it, but the sharing of all the cards shared is up, so an posting this today. Gosh, mail is so slow these days!

I am sending my card to the Snippets Playground #453 as my card front circles and stripe are made of snippets. I am also adding the card to NBUS #50 for May for the first time using the old greeting.
