Love Chocolate

Happy Hello,

Showing today a card created a while ago but never shared. I am a HUGE chocolate lover, so this retired Stampin' Up! stamp and die set was a no brainer purchase for me. Even though this card was done in blue tones, not brown, I think it is furn. I'm sorry, but all the things used to make this card are retired SU, but I like using what I have 'cuz so much has not seen some love in ages.

Here are the details:

The card base is Seaside Spray, a nice pale blue cardstock. I cut a piece of the 2020-2022 In Color DSP in the blue wood grain-like paper diagonally leaving space for the sentiment. It's an A2 size card, top folded.

The word Chocolate was die cut from snippets of Night of Navy cardstock, then enhanced with clear embossing powder for shine. This die is from the Love You More Than stamp and die set. I found the tiny hearts die in the Detailed Bee die set and made it shiny too.

A pretty easy card to do. I'm going to send it to a friend who also loves chocolate. I am adding the card to the Snippets Playground Challenge #446 as the word and hearts are from snippets of paper.

A Pink Rose

 Hello Friends,

I finished this card today and cannot decide if I like it better with or without the sentiment. Please help me decide. I haven't decided where I will send the card, but have a couple of people in mind.

As you may know, roses are my favorite flower. When living in CA I had rose bushes and loved having them in the house and on my desk at work. I did try to have a bush here in a pot on my old patio and over-wintering it in the garage, but that did not work. So I have tons of flower stamps instead. This one is new, so am heading over to NBUS #46. edit: Oops I have used this stamp before, not the die, though.

The rose stamp and die are from Picket Fence called A Rose. Using a blending brush, I colored it with Ranger Distress Oxide in Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry. I do love pink. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions and the trellis die cut was a gift from a friend. Sorry, but I don't remember who sent it. 

So that is it from me this week. Next week I'll be at my daughter's home pet sitting. I know she has left me a lot of good food as she is a great cook and knows my tastes. :-)

A Sympathy Card

 Hello Again,

I needed a sympathy card for a friend and had this nice green cardstock on my desk. I also wanted to use a new to me stamp and die set bought a while ago and never used. So here is my card. I hope the green isn't too off-base for a sympathy card. What do you think?

The embossing folder is part of a Stampin' Up! set called Merriest Frames. This floral frame and embossing set is from the recent Mini Catalog that recently ended. Sorry. Basic Black cardstock is my card base for this A2 card.

The stamp here is from SU Prized Peony, retired,  and stamped in Versaafine Onyx Black. It was a bit of struggle deciding which stamp to do here on the front and which to use inside.

This is the inside done with snippets of the green on white cardstock. This sentiment is from SU Better Together #2 , also retired, with the leaf from the frame set described above. 

I am adding this card to NBUS # 46 because of my new frame and embossing folder set.

CCC December 2022 Tic-Tac-Toe

Holiday Greetings!

My card is winging its way to Norway, hopefully will be there before the end of the month. Update: Gail has received it!!

As you can see below, the challenge this month was a tic-tac-toe grid and I chose to go right across the top.

Here are the details: Using the SU Slim Card #4 die, I cut out red and green cardstock.  The red c.s. is Real Red and the wonderful green is hoarded and retired Handsome Hunter. With some  measuring, I made the base card just a bit bigger than the SU die. The green cutouts are inlaid back into the die and the whole thing glued onto the base card. The tiny wreath is by Papertrey Ink, I think, but I failed to write it down and cannot find the die now. Phooey. Scraps of the green c.s. were used to make the wreath. The bow is made in white ribbon I found in my stash.  I used my old bow maker to make the little bow. Fun to get that out. 

So another fine year with making cards for the Card Chain Challenge and I've enjoyed it immensely. I sure recommend joining it and getting cards from all over the world.

A Couple of Christmas Cards

Hello!

Sharing today a couple of the Christmas cards I made and mailed. I love making Christmas cards, however, most sent this year were made ages ago and I don't remember how I made them. These are more recent.

This Christmas Scottie stamp set and punch are by Stampin' Up! I love all dogs, you know, so this set was a must to buy. I am showing the inside too. The colors used are Real Red and Versafine Onyx Black along with basic white. I've put away all my Christmas supplies so cannot identify the Merry Christmas stamp. Isn't the woof greeting precious? I think so.  :-)

                                

Next is a card made this year using older goodies. The wreath die is from an old Concord & 9th set called Joyful Noel. I cut it using shades of green, SU's Evening Evergreen and Gumball Green cardstocks. Shiny red balls from my bling drawer accent the wreath. I used the largest Scalloped Contours die to make a background for the wreath. The white cardstock is all from PTI. The Merry Christmas in Real Red c.s. again, is the same Elizabeth Craft designs die that I have used previously.

I am glad to be finished making holiday cards; next up more winter scene cards, I expect. We have lots of winter left here in MN. 😀

Snowflakes and Stars

Hi and Happy Holidays! 

I don't know where I've been, busy, I guess, but I just realized this is the final challenge for the Squash It team. So I just have to participate in Let's Squash It Challenge # 27 that calls for snowflakes and stars. I am really going to miss this challenge. It has been fun! Thanks Gail and Jo.

Here is my card:

 Choosing an embossing folder was my first step. Luckily I use Evernote, so I could see all my snowflake and stars folders. This is a new one from Simon Says Stamp called Faceted Snowflakes. Still available.

Next I made an A2 side opening  base card from Night of Navy cardstock, a perennial favorite color of mine by Stampin' Up! The snowflake ef was run through my Gemini Jr. using PTI white cardstock. 

The idea for the sweater is a CASing of a card I made years ago, maybe 2018 and probably blogged about on my old blog. Remember it? Lucky I save everything. Teehee. Anyway, the die is from the retired Elizabeth Craft Designs called Winter Sweater, and for sale a couple of other places.

For the stars I punched them out with an old SU mini star punch. And finally, added Brrr in the navy using a die from another SU/Sizzix retired set named Snowflake Card Thinlits. A layer of white is inside for a note or sentiment when I am ready to send this out. 

Done. What do you think? Because the embossing folder is new, I am adding this to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #45 and as the Brrr is from a snippet of paper, am also entering Di and Sarn's Snippet Playground #443.
