Celebrate You

Hi Again!

Am joining the celebration of Di at the Snippets Playground Challenge #471 where she and Sarn have thrilled us with creativity, charm, and humor for years. Di has put in 12 year and Sarn a few less. Thanks you two.

Here's my card made with lots of snippets!

A lot of retired oldie but goodie dies used again to make this card. The celebrate is from PTI Birthday Cheer done with a Gina K Deco Foil Toner card front and lovely striped Deco Foil. First time in ages that I have tried laminating with my Minc.

Snippets of colored foil cardstock from an old Metalics Mat Stack by DCWV were used for the word you and the dots. I took out an old 1/2" punch from SU for the red circle and used two hand punch sizes to make the green and gold ones.

The Fine Tip Glue Pen from SU was essential in gluing down these snippets.

The base card is A2 top folding and embossed with the old SU/Sizzix Square Lattice embossing folder. The purple cardstock is from my stash. I do like using colored paper instead of just my usual white.

It is a lovely sunny day here in Minnesota, but freezing temperature near zero with wind chill. A good day to stay in and create.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come by again. I sure love your comments.

A Snowy Night

 Happy Winter!

I've made a card to enter the Color Hues, the Color Challenge that is asking for Light Blue and Navy. I love all hues of blue, so this chalenge is just right up my alley.

The star of my card is this great owl die cut that was a gift, however I have forgotten who sent it. Thank you, my friend.

From my stash of card fronts, I pulled out a piece of SU Night of Navy and embossed it with their retired embossing folder called Softly Falling. I tapped white ink on it with Hero Hues white pigment ink carefully to just cover the dots making them snowflakes.

I used another retired die called Fremont Pine Landscape from Poppy Stamps cutting it with a snippet of white cardstock. The card base is my usual PTI. I only used part of the die.

To adhere to the rules of the challenge, I stamped my sentiment from My Favorite Things Greetings Galore in SU Boho Blue to complete the card front. Inside is more of the light blue ready for a note. I placed the rest of the die on it.

We finally have snow here and it looks so pretty. But it is cold! :-)

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come by again.

CCC December 2023

Happy December Greetings!

I am going across the bottom of the December Tic-Tac-Toe grid challenge for this month. It was hard to chose a row and to used what supplies I have on hand. BUT I found one! All the elements are here in my card: blue, brad, bear, and button! The button found in my stash has 4 holes, and I think it shows our moon's texture. lol

Starting with a piece of water color paper, I blended SU Night of Navy and Boho Blue to make the waves. I free handed a snippet to make the ice floe for my polor bear. Per another blogger's idea,  (sorry I forgot to write down who), next I applied a couple of layers of glue to make the floating ice shiny. Since them I purchased some Glossy Accents that might have worked better.

Anyway, before mounting the ice floe and my bear, I blended  the same two blue colors with a touch of Black Soot Distress Ink to make the cloudy sky, masking off a small punched circle for the moon. That gave me a place to add the button. I am not sure why I have a whole container of buttons, but I remember them being popular back in the day! You too?

I am sure you recognize the wonderful SU bear punch image  that I've used before. Cutting him from more of the water color paper gives him some texture.

Next, I mounted my card front onto another piece of white cardstock, then both onto a SU Basic Black A2 card base.

For my sentiment I chose to use Peace On Earth from SU's current Regal Reindeer stamp set. I fussy cut around it so it would fit in the corner.

The bronze brad completes the card and the bottom row of the challenge grid. Done and mailed.
Happy, Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all. Peace in our world would be my wish. 🕊

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come by again. Thanks too for commenting! Hugs from MN.
