Sunflower Hello

 Happy Fall!

I received a lovely package of die cuts from Cheryl W. at Paper Panacea after admiring one of her cards. Thanks so much, Cheryl. My card today is a CASEing of her card.

What do you think? I like it and will probably send it off to CA when I get my friend's new address.

To the pale orange die cut I added some darker orange with a colored pencil by Crayola. Not sure why I haven't used my pencils before. But it is fun. Anyway, next I colored the center of the flower with a brown pencil. In real life the flower is really pale orange unlike my picture seems to show. Honest!

For my background I found an interesting green paper by SU, a DSP called Splendid Autumn from 2024. Like Cheryl, I propped up some of the petals with glue dots beofre gluing the whole flower down. It was difficult doing the stem and leaves I tell you. My card base is my usual basic white from PTI.

To finish up I used a simple greeting from a vintage Gina K set called Vertical Greetings that has had lots of use lately.

Come to find out, The Color Hues Challenge #117 is asking for orange and green, so am entering my card there before it closes.  First time visiting this challenge.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come by again. Hugs from Minnesota where Fall is so pretty.

You did a great job with this die-cut! I love the extra shading you added to the petals. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the rest of the die-cuts. I hope you share your creations online when you do use them.

Lovely sunflower with the extra dimension and shading. Love the background paper too. I am so used to using alcohol markers that I forget about the colored pencils also. Will have to get them out again.
