Glad You're My Friend

 Hello,

My card for the August 2025 Card Chain Challenge has gone to Oregon. Hopefully the mail is not slow. I put extra postage on the envelope because it was heavier then normal. I didn't use the colors or layout options this month, but the card fits the friendship option. 😊 P.S.  She has received it!

What do you think?  I like the card and I believe Greta likes the colors of blue too.

This wonderful DSP came in a kit that I received from Dawn O. after making a purchase in July. This DSP paper set is called Florals in Bloom, and this is my favorite one as I love these colors together.

The card base is Misty Moonlight and there is a thin layer of the new SU color papr called Timid Tiger for a border. On the rectange I stamped a super greeting from the retired Incredible Like You stamp set. It is still availale a few places online. This friendly greeting is propped up using double sided foam tape.

Inside I wrote a note on a piece of white cardstock.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come by again. Looking forward to your comment.

Watering Flowers

Hi There!

I have so many wooden stamps, it is hard to chose one for this challenge. The wood stamps are my favorite, next to red rubber. I am adding this card to the August Edition/Woodblack Wednesday challenge.

This watering can stamp is an oldie from Stampin Up dated 1997. I stamped it with VersaMark, added Zing embossing powder in Silver, and heated it with my heat gun. It was really hard getting a nice impression and picture.

I fussy cut the can out. Next I looked for a flower stamp that wouldn't be over-powered by the big can. Found this crysanthemum in SU's current set called Inspiring Imperfections. I colored the flowers with my SU markers (I hate that they are going away) in Wisteria Wonder, Polished Pink, Daffodil Delight and Cucember Crush.

Luckily I also have the dies. After die cutting, I placed them under the rim of my watering can and glued the whole thing onto a beige Paper Lattice treillis also by SU. The cardbase is PTI basic white.

The sentiment is from Gina K, her older Vertical Sentiments set. I had to do surgery on the stamp to get it on my card just right.  Whew! Done!

 What do you think?

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come by again. Thanks too for commenting, I love that!

Tulips on Wood

Hello Friends,

Am doing a last minute entry to the July Edition - Throwback Woodblock Wednesday. Just finished the card yesterday and took a photo today.

The wooden stamp is an oldie by Whipper Snapper Designs. I bought it on eBay so don't know how old it is. Cute, though. Right?

Here's my card:
I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black so I could use SU Blends to color. Used Light and Dark Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pretty in Pink, and Soft Succulent with touches of brown.

Next I mounted this focal point on black c.s. then embossed the whole thing with my SU Subtle embossing folder.

For the background I embossed a rectangle of Old Olive with a newer folder by Simon Says Stamp called Floral Festoon. It has tulips and stems that unfortunately do not show much.

Am quite fond of this card. Left off a sentiment as I couldn't figure out where to put one. Any ideas? Help!

A lovely cool but smokey day here in MN. I love that it isn't so hot today. :-)  A day to create.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come by again. Love your comments!
